Walverden has supported Anti-Bullying Week and we have been spending some time learning and reminding children about the definitions of bullying and how to talk to someone if they feel they are being bullied.
Discussions have within school have focused on this and how to be a kind friend who is sensitive to the feelings of others and passionate about standing up against bullying. We asked all children (and staff) to wear odd socks on one day to celebrate the fact that we are all unique.
Photos of some of the work that has been completed are shown with this post.

Dear parents,
I really hope that you can help me. I am currently investigating the Healthy Schools Award which is run by the Active Lancashire Team and Sport England. I was hoping that you could take part in a short survey to assist with this.
Having responses from both children and parents is vital if we are to be successful in achieving this accreditation. The award has a positive impact for the school and the children as we receive free advice and training and also vouchers for new expensive sports equipment. It would be wonderful if you could help us with this enquiry.
To take part simply click on the link below and it will take you straight to the survey.
Finally fill in the survey as honestly as possible.
The Year One children are aware that they will receive sport prizes if their parents complete the survey.
Here is the links to the survey:
Thank you so much,
From Mrs Robson

Confirmed case of COVID-19
Dear parent / carer,
We have been notified of another positive case of COVID-19, in Class 3R.
Please be aware that your child will now not be able to return to school until Tuesday 6 October.
Children in all other classes are NOT potential close contacts of the confirmed case, and therefore parents of children in these classes do not need to do anything at this time.
Children in all other classes should continue to attend school as normal.
Please can we remind all parents that, if any member of your household becomes ill with symptoms of
coronavirus, it is essential that all members of that household self-isolate in line with government
guidance. Failure to follow these rules can result in increased transmission of the virus and may cause
more closures within school.
Thank you for your support and understanding in this matter.
