On Wednesday Year 3 used the 'Now Press Play' headsets to experience what life was like in the Roman times. We tried on armour, ran away from the Celts and took part in a gladiator fight at the amphitheatre.
Year 4 enjoyed a water workshop from United Utilities where they learnt all about the water cycle, usage of water in our homes, the importance of water safety and the value of water. They are all now 'water savers' not 'water wasters'.
We have some brilliant news that last night our football team became the Pendle Platinum League champions! We are so proud of the the team and their achievement. Well done to everyone.
More pictures and information will be shared on Class Dojo.
A group of our Yr3/4 children visited Borwick Hall for three days of outdoor activities. The children really enjoyed their time team building, caving and canoeing. It was an absolute pleasure to see the children working so well together and learning how to survive away from home, they all did extremely well and hoped that they really enjoyed the experience.
More pictures from this experience have been shared on Class Dojo for you to see what else the children got up to.
Please find a message that we have received from the Chairman of Nelson FC.
Once again it was great to see some of your families at the game on Saturday. I think they may be out good luck charms now as it was another victory for The Admirals.
We will be offering free entry again to the game on Saturday and have decided to offer free passes to your school community for every home game for the rest of the season!
Please find attached passes to this Saturday's game vs Golcar to be shown at the turnstile.
The pass that is needed for the Golcar game is shared with this post. It will either need to be printed or shown using your mobile device.
Enjoy the game if you are able to go along and support the team.
As part of their science topic Evolution and Inheritance, Year 6 met a range of animals that Charles Darwin wrote about during his travels. They learnt about how animals such as the Giant African Land snail and tarantulas have adapted to their environment.
Yesterday, some of our Year 6 children travelled to Turf Moor to watch the England Under 21 football qualifier against Czech Republic.
They watched a thrilling game of football, resulting in a 3 - 1 victory for England.
