Our PSHE curriculum supports children to develop the knowledge, skills and values they need to become healthy, safe, responsible and respectful members of society. Through a carefully planned programme of learning, pupils explore a range of topics including emotional wellbeing, physical and mental health, healthy relationships, keeping safe, online safety, personal responsibility and life in the wider world. Children learn how to manage feelings and emotions, make informed decisions, build positive relationships and develop resilience in the face of challenges. The curriculum is further enriched through the promotion of character education, school values, British values and awareness of national events and celebrations. As pupils progress through school, they develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their communities and the wider world, preparing them for life beyond primary school.
The curriculum is built around themes including feelings and emotions, health and wellbeing, personal safety, relationships, responsibility, online safety, diversity, inclusion and understanding the wider world, alongside opportunities to develop important character traits such as independence, resilience, teamwork, kindness and leadership.
