Our Music curriculum inspires children to develop a lifelong love of music through singing, listening, performing, composing and playing instruments. In the Early Years, children explore rhythm, movement, creativity and musical expression through a range of engaging themes using the Charanga Creative Music Scheme. As pupils move through the school, they develop their musical knowledge and skills through the Charanga Original Scheme, exploring a wide variety of musical styles and genres. Children have opportunities to sing, perform, compose and appraise music while learning to play instruments such as recorders, glockenspiels and ukuleles. Through regular musical experiences, pupils build confidence, creativity and teamwork, while developing an appreciation of music from different cultures and traditions. Our curriculum encourages every child to express themselves musically and experience the enjoyment and achievement that music can bring.
